Tatiana (ATC - Acrylic paint)

Tiger lily (ATC - acrylic paint)

It's very interesting working on a 2.5 x 3.5 card. It's the bonsai of art. I've worked on huge canvases with oils in the past and now it comes down to thinking in small scale. The best thing is that one can actually finish a card relatively fast. Whereas with a huge canvas and with my particular process, the painting may never be completed! My first set of cards were done in acrylic dots with the whole series dedicated to that poor tiger from the San Francisco zoo last December named Tatiana. I think the tiger card came out the best, then the tiger lily. What's great is that it'll be given away and will be owned by another artist. I can't wait to see what comes to me.

Saturday morning

This will be a year of many "firsts" for me with this blog being one of them. Creating this was surprisingly easy. I am currently working on a pastel pet portrait of little chihuahua "Che Wee" and have joined an art trading card club and signed up for the "Pointilism" trade. As usual, I'm afraid to begin the projects but once I begin - I can't stop. Here goes to a wonderful artistic journey!
